As a Vocal Coach over the last twelve years, singers frequently asked me if I thought they could get a Record deal.

Todays  technology  has opened  the Music Industry to a point where just about anyone can make their music available to the masses without having to go the traditional Record Label "Record Deal" route.

I feel that this opportunity will encourage todays singers and lead them to demonstrate  more vocal ability, originality, and song writing, as opposed to the commercially driven focus of the Record Labels.   This does not mean that todays singers/artists do not need to be marketable  but it opens the door for more artists to participate in an industry that was more about who you know than it was about talent, quality, and originality.

The industrys new accessibility demands that Singers maximize their vocal abilities.  Singers must find new tools and techniques  to improve their Breathing, increase their range, improvise, control Vibrato, and style thier vocals, etc...

Ready To Sing Vocal exercises and workouts provide fun and challenging ways to help Singers achieve their singing goals, and meet the industries new challenges.

This is true. The interenet has made it very easy to make music availble all over the world. The problem with that is now everybody has there music online and the internet has become saturated. I get 5-6 friend requests everyday from bands on myspace. Artists still have to find creative ways to sepearte their music from everyone else's. The record company's role has changed recently. Labels no longer want to invest money to develop talent. They want finished products delivered to them. They want hit songs. Artists with potential, but no product, are not their focus. It costs to much to develop them (songwriting, production, marketing) and they can't afford the loss. An artist has much more control of their product if they independently release and market it on their own. However, getting real radio play, press, TV spots, ect.. is not easy without the resources of Record Labels. Not to say that it can't be done, its just much harder when you are brand new, unknown, independant artist. What it comes down to, like Eve says, is just making good music, believing in it, and working hard.
